Released on 11 September 2026

This release adds support for SPDX contributor comments and TBX term alternatives, and improves editing of existing translation units.

Changes

Formats and Converters

  • Gettext PO

    • Add an opt-in SPDX format for contributor comments, preserving historical years and unrelated copyright notices

  • Markdown and MDX

    • Preserve translations identical to the source before trying legacy lookup keys, and avoid consuming duplicate translation occurrences

  • TBX

    • Expose ordered term alternatives with IDs, administrative status, and scoped notes

    • Preserve term IDs, metadata, and unrelated XML when editing alternatives

    • Keep usable terms when another term is deprecated or the selected target language is missing

  • TBX and TMX

    • Fall back from bare language codes to default-country variants, such as en to en-US, when no exact match exists

    • Preserve existing XML language tags when editing matched terms

  • XML-based formats

    • Fix copying wrapper children during XML generation

Other

  • Keep store lookup indexes in sync when editing sources, keys, and contexts

  • Preserve translations, XML metadata, plural keys, and retained YAML and TOML documents when editing existing units

  • Document source, key, and context setter behavior in the storage API

  • Update development tooling and CI dependencies
